  • With so many weddings to attend, you’re probably thinking what to wear apart from the usual sarees, lehengas and anarkalis. Although you can’t completely ignore Indian attire at weddings, but what about giving it a western touch? Sounds fun? Read on.

Choose from the following  east meets west looks and make your own style statement at the next wedding you attend.

  • Pant Saree

The trend was started by our desi fashionista, Sonam Kapoor at Cannes where she wore a pant saree for a red carpet event. This trend is here to stay and we are not complaining. Look how Sonam dazzles (yet again) in a stunning pant styled saree with a dramatic hair bun, large danglers and stilettos.

  • Jacket and Lehenga Combo

If you are opting for a lehenga give a western twist by substituting the conventional cholis with a jacket. We promise it will look as versatile as a lehenga-choli combo. Choose your style of jacket and pair it with your lehenga skirt. Go for a long sleeved jacket and add a statement belt for a sassy look.

  • Crop Top

There’s one thing which every girl has it in her wardrobe by now, a crop top. If you think crop tops are only for casual events, you are wrong. A crop top can be worn in many different ways and can be paired up with lehengas, sarees, dhoti pants, maxi skirts and the list goes on. We suggest you wear it with embroidered harem pants, and keep your accessories strictly Indian.

  • Dhoti Jumpsuit

If you like wearing dhoti pants, you will definitely love dhoti jumpsuits. And it is totally cool to wear it on your friend’s wedding. Go for a printed one with an embroidered jacket, which will add a traditional grace to your look. Team it up with silver jewelry and flats if you wish to give it a casual touch and for makeup, cat eyes and nude lips will complete the look.

  • Asymmetric Anarkali

This anarkali inspired gown emulates the indo-fusion style perfectly. The red panel skirt with brass metal beading will make you look nothing less than a diva. And if you really, really have to wear bottoms, we suggest you to go for cigarette pants  instead of a churidaar.

  • Saree Gown

It’s one of your relative's wedding and you just can’t avoid wearing a saree, don’t worry. A saree gown is just what you need. It is a saree styled gown and looks just as elegant as a saree. But the best part is you can completely skip the complexities of draping a saree. Take a cue from the gorgeous Shilpa Shetty, who wore a pink saree gown with a stunning baroque jacket. Her simple hairdo and just studded earrings are complementing the look perfectly.
